Tanmoy Bhowmik is a highly experienced and accomplished researcher and product innovator in the fields of AI/ML, Signal Processing, and Optimization. With over 17 years of experience, he has built and owned AI-powered solutions across a wide variety of domains, including FINTECH, Fraud & Risk, Telecom, VLSI, Business Intelligence (BI), Data Governance, and AI for Good. Tanmoy's areas of expertise include Learning from Data, where he has extensive experience in statistical learning, deep learning, data privacy, ethical AI, and end-to-end ML system design. He is also highly skilled in Signal and Image Processing, with expertise in time and frequency domain analysis, data compression, filter design, multi-resolution analysis, compressive sensing, and statistical estimation. Tanmoy has published 15 research papers in top-tier Signal Processing and ML journals and conferences in Nature, IEEE, ACM, ECAI, among others. He has also filed 20+ patents (10+ USPTO, 1 WO) in the last four years, with one granted and two pending final review. Currently, Tanmoy is working as a Principal Data Scientist at goto group, where he builds and owns machine learning models and strategies for risk mitigation in digital payment. He provides thought leadership to democratize and scale ML pipelines. Previously, Tanmoy worked as a Director at AI Garage, managing a high-performing data science team. He grew AI Garage to 100+ strength from 20+ and led 30 data scientists and ML engineers. He also led research and cyber intelligence product innovation in AI Garage, and his team published 20+ papers in top-tier ML conferences. Tanmoy also worked as a Lead Data Scientist at Ericsson, where he developed a fully functional and deployment-ready time series forecasting model for predictive maintenance of Software Defined Network controller. Tanmoy holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Digital Signal Processing from the University of Texas and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from MNNIT.
